Mel was bred and raised right here at Vina Vista Ranch. He is out of Jonathan's Joy and by Christmas Cocoa. Born November 2002, Mel is registered with the North American Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of the USA (NAMASCUSA). He is 19 inches tall and weighs 34 lb. He is a black tri with plenty of copper and a white half collar. He has an excellent temperament and is the most loving, loyal dog I have ever known. When he is in the house with me he will change rooms whenever I do, lie quietly watching me, and occasionally come over for an ear rub! Very gentle with people, but loves to run circles and roughhouse with the younger dogs.

Mel is neutered and retired, with puppy-sitting duties.
